University Recreation is kicking off the fall semester with Get Rec’d, a Weeks of Welcome event designed to help students discover everything UREC has to offer.

Join us Sunday, Aug. 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center for an afternoon of activities and opportunities to connect with fellow students. Whether you’re a first-year student, transfer student or returning student looking to try something new, Get Rec’d is the perfect opportunity to learn how UREC can become part of your college experience.

Throughout the event, students can meet staff members and learn more about Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, Group Exercise, Pilates Reformer, Personal Training, Outdoor Recreation and student employment opportunities. Guided tours will be available throughout the afternoon, giving students a chance to familiarize themselves with the facility.

Of course, no welcome event would be complete without prizes and a little friendly competition. Students can enter for giveaways and prizes throughout the event.

The fun continues from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with two featured activities located just steps away from the Student Recreation Center. Students can cool off during an outdoor pool party at the Outdoor Pool Complex or compete in a pickleball tournament at the Tennis Facility. Crimson Ride transportation will be available throughout the event for students living on campus. No registration is required for any Get Rec’d activities, so students are encouraged to stop by, participate and stay as long as they’d like.

Get Rec’d is all about helping students find their place on campus through recreation, wellness and community. Whether you’re interested in fitness classes, competitive sports, outdoor adventures, or meeting new people, there’s something for everyone to discover here at UREC.
