Members can choose to renew their membership each month. Members can cancel anytime.

Student Membership
Memberships are complimentary for all enrolled UA students. UREC membership includes access to the Student Recreation Center, Robert E. Witt Activity Center, Aquatic Center, Outdoor Pool Complex, and Tennis Court Complex.
Enrolled on-campus and distance education students registered for one credit hour or more have membership privileges for all UREC facilities.
To qualify for a reduced summer membership rate, the student must have taken classes during the most recent semester.

To begin a membership, please complete the UREC Membership Application and we will contact you for payment. You can also visit the Membership Services office located in the Student Recreation Center, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Recurring Membership
Recurring payment options are available to all members, with charges processed on the first of each month. Members can securely save a payment method and start or stop their membership at any time.
Faculty and staff may log in using their myBama credentials. All other members will use the username and password assigned during account setup. If you are not a faculty or staff member and need login assistance, please contact the Membership Office for support.
General Membership Guidelines
Outdoor Pool Complex
The Outdoor Pool Complex (OPC) is located outside the Student Recreation Center. A monthly membership is valid for 30 days. Memberships less than 30 days from the seasonal closure date will be prorated. Outdoor Pool Complex access is included in UREC membership, but monthly or daily passes are available for those who do not have UREC membership.

OPC Day Pass
$10 per day *Children age 3 and under are free
OPC Day Passes can be purchased at the OPC entrance desk. Rain checks and refunds are not offered.
A government-issued photo ID is required from any individual 16 and over purchasing an OPC day pass(es).
All OPC Day Pass users must complete a Release of Liability, Assumption of the Risk, and Indemnification Agreement. This form is to be signed by each participant 18 years of age or older. If the participant is under the age of 18, a Parent/Guardian must execute this document and by signing, certifies that they are 19 or older and serving as the minor’s parent/guardian.
Children age 15 and under must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian aged 18 and above.
OPC Day Pass for weekends and holidays are $15 per person per day. Weekends include Fridays-Sundays. Holidays include Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, and Labor Day.
Parking and Access
A valid parking permit is required to access all UREC facilities and is enforced Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Permits can be purchased through Parking Services, located at the Transportation Hub Deck (315 Hackberry Lane, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487 | 205-348-5471). The annual permit is $40 and is valid from August through July. Pricing will be prorated based on the time of purchase.
An Action Card is required for entry into all UREC facilities. After purchasing a membership, members may obtain an Action Card from the Action Card Office for a one-time fee of $10. The Action Card Office is located at 315 Hackberry Lane, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
Towel Service
Patrons with a current membership may purchase towel service for $8 a month. This service allows two shower towels per visit to be checked out at the equipment desk. Used shower towels should be returned to the specifically identified receptacles in the locker rooms. This service is available for purchase at the SRC Membership Office and online at urecshop@ua.edu. You must have a current membership to purchase towel service. Towel service is non-refundable.
Need a Locker?
Grab a personal locker at a University Recreation facility to store all your gear! Renter lockers are fully accessible and allow easy access to all activity spaces. Locker room amenities include hand and swimsuit dryers, accessible showers and bathroom facilities, vanities, and private showers. All lockers expire on April 30 of each year, so the prices below will be prorated based on the date you purchase your locker for the first time. For more information, please contact us.

Guest Fees

Guest passes may be purchased by a current UA Student or a current UA Faculty/Staff UREC Member for sponsored guest(s) at the SRC Welcome Desk, Witt Center Welcome Desk, Parker-Hahn Tennis Facility, and Aquatic Center using a credit/debit card.
- Two passes may be purchased by a current UA Student or current UA Faculty/Staff UREC Member per visit
- Each guest is limited to 3 sponsored passes per semester and must present a government-issued photo ID each time they use the pass.
- All guests must sign the UREC facility usage waiver.
- Guest pass sales are limited to only UA Students and UA Faculty/Staff UREC Members
- By sponsoring a guest, the sponsor assumes responsibility for the actions of the guest while using UREC facilities
A guest pass allows one-time access into the UREC Facility at which the guest pass is purchased. The guest must always remain with the sponsoring member within the facility. Rain checks and refunds are not offered.
All guests must be at least 16 years of age or older. Individuals under the age of 16 are not allowed in these facilities.
