University Recreation (UREC) has a variety of spaces ideal for events, fitness activities, meetings and sporting events. Use of any UREC indoor or outdoor space is subject to a rental fee. Area fees do not include personnel, sporting equipment or miscellaneous charges. Climbing Wall
The Climbing Wall facility at the Robert E. Witt Activity Center offers top rope, bouldering, and auto belay climbing. Reservation fees include harness and shoe rentals for all participants, as well as qualified staff to assist with climbing. Rentals are for a 2-hour period, with an additional hourly charge equal to 50% of the original two-hour rental cost.
Rentals are available during the Spring & Fall semesters on Fridays from 6 – 8 p.m. and on Saturdays & Sundays during Witt Center operational hours. Rentals during summer break will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

Outdoor Pool
Max group size for a two-hour rental at the Outdoor Pool Complex (OPC) is 300 participants. Two-hour rental increments are only offered outside of normal operating hours from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. For summer camp rentals, please reach out to the Events Coordinator at urecevents@ua.edu for pricing and available times.

These fees may be assessed for painting lines depending on the Intramural Sport season. For most events, lines being painted is not required to host your event.
